  • Provided direction and leadership in order to build El Paso Day Surgery center from inception to completion under a one-year contract. Worked with construction contractors in every phase of building, to include but not limited to, overseeing of construction. Strategize with corporate and local investors for a comprehensive budget plan. Created a Performa to better understand budget constraints.
  • Advertised and hired all medical and business staff for a total staff of approximately 54 teammates. In conjunction with the Medical Director developed, implemented, monitored and evaluated the implementation of policies and procedures, which assured a cost effective, safe and high quality of care is implemented. Trained all staff to better develop skills that would fit a Surgical Center environment. Worked with vendors to procure instrumentation for surgical suites.
  • Marketed facility in the manner which was instrumental in attracting new partners and hospital affiliates.
  • Obtained and negotiated contracts with insurances, banks and other vendors for best price and best payback options in order achieve mission and fiscal objectives.
  • Responsible for the setup of all Insurance contracts for Medicare, Texas Medicaid, New Mexico Medicaid, Blue Cross, Tri-Care, Tri-West, United Healthcare, and Aetna, etc.
  • Created an “In House” Billing system with certified coders for an ASC billing and collections program

  • Increased monthly collections from $750,000 to $1.5 million dollars monthly.
  • Created a training compact disc and trained staff to be able to collect more efficiently, and also for staff development
  • Obtained and negotiated contracts with insurances, banks and other vendors for best price and best payback options. Responsible for the setup of all Insurance contracts for Medicare, Texas Medicaid, New Mexico Medicaid, Blue Cross, Tri-Care, Tri-West, United Healthcare, and Aetna, etc.
  • Used technology to better assist the facility with re-credentialing of physicians and also that of the surgery center. Placed all credentialing forms and files online for easy access.
  • This was the only facility, within the Foundation Surgical Center employment, where 100% employee retention in the business office had ever occurred.
  • Created yearly budgets for each department. Evaluated staffing needs on a regular basis to reduce overtime.
  • I was able to have 85% of the Business Office enroll in a 4 year undergraduate program, where today all but one has graduated with a Bachelor’s In Science degree.
